Sail Away on the Ship of Friends

"The Truth about Twinkie Pie" author Kat Yeh visits Bank Street Book Store on Saturday, March 11 at 10:30 a.m. to present her new picture book "The Friend Ship." This is a perfect choice for kids from four to seven years old, especially those learning to reach out to new friends everywhere. Hedgehog is lonely and wants to make and be a friend to others -- and she's not alone. Luckily, she figures out just where and how to look for friends in this delightful story. Kat will read, sign copies of her books, and answer questions from all young story lovers in attendance.

The event takes place at New York City's Symphony Space on Sunday, March 5 at 1:00 p.m. with illustrious writers (also big-time fans) Blue Balliet ("Chasing Vermeer"), Chris Grabenstein ("Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library"), Wendy Mass ("The Candymakers"), and Alexandra London ("The Wild Ones"). Authors will lead a lively discussion of the book while audience members participate in a creative writing project.
