"Well, That Was Awkward" Is Author Rachel Vail's Long-Awaited New Middle-Grade Book

Author Rachel Vail stops by Bank Street Book Store on Wednesday, March 8 at 4:00 p.m. for a very special event featuring her new book "Well, That Was Awkward," the story of a chance meeting between main character Gracie and her major crush AJ. But life is complicated by the fact that AJ is interested in Gracie's best friend Sienna instead, and Gracie's parents, who tend to hover over Gracie's daily activities, are hoping upon hope that Gracie has everything she needs to remain happy after a family incident that affects them all. This event is specially designed for middle-grade students so here's an open invitation to all readers from ten to 12 years old to join us. Rachel will talk about the book as well as sign copies!

Sail Away on the Ship of Friends

"The Truth about Twinkie Pie" author Kat Yeh visits Bank Street Book Store on Saturday, March 11 at 10:30 a.m. to present her new picture book "The Friend Ship." This is a perfect choice for kids from four to seven years old, especially those learning to reach out to new friends everywhere. Hedgehog is lonely and wants to make and be a friend to others -- and she's not alone. Luckily, she figures out just where and how to look for friends in this delightful story. Kat will read, sign copies of her books, and answer questions from all young story lovers in attendance.

Rhyme Time at Bank Street Book Store

Story time at Bank Street Book Store on Saturday, March 4 at 10:30 a.m. includes a visit from teacher Debbie Finger and her fun-for-all book for beginning readers called "Looking for Color Rhymes." Debbie helps children learn to read through rhyme recognition. She also uses familiar concepts such as colors to create interest and enthusiasm. Join us as Debbie presents (and signs!) her book while kids and families read along.
