Tom Chapin Live in Concert!

Raise your voices and lift your hearts at Bank Street Bookstore on Sunday, February 18 at 2:00 p.m. when three-time Grammy winner Tom Chapin performs in person! Tom is joined by friend and bassist extraordinaire actor/musician Michael Mark to present longtime favorite tunes together. Tom's songs are a joy to sing and hear, especially when in the company of others in the crowd who know and love his music for kids and families. We are told Tom is sure to include "Library Book" and "Backwards Birthday Party" in his playlist, then sign copies of these two terrific titles based on his original songs. Join us as we celebrate three great years at our store location at 2780 Broadway. (If possible, please leave strollers at home to create more space for Tom's many fans.)

Judy Blumesday at Symphony Space

Thalia Kids' Book Club events at New York City's Symphony Space promise lively discussions between children's book authors and the kids who read and love their books. Judy Blume, a super-star author for readers of all ages, will be honored at Symphony Space Sunday, February 4 at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to celebrate the enduring nature of her work. Blume's books ("Tales of a Fourth-Grade Nothing," "Freckle Juice," "Pain and the Great One," "Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret," "In the Unlikely Event") include many modern classics whose passages will be performed by actors and read by authors and others throughout two events: the first for kids at 3:00 p.m. and the second for adults at 6:00 p.m. Special guests include Samantha Bee, Molly Ringwald, Meg Wolitzer, Jacqueline Woodson, and others who grew up reading Judy's slightly naughty, often hilarious books. Young audience members (ideal age is between eight and 12 years old) are invitied to participate by asking questions and writing stories of their own inspired by Judy's works. Grown-ups have the chance to learn about the life of this gentle yet forceful writer through tributes and toasts. For ticket information, visit https://www.symphonyspace.org/event/9825/Family-Literature/judy-blumesday-kids?spektrix_bounce=true.
