Every year since 1967 International Children's Book Day has been celebrated on Hans Christian Andersen's birthday. This year's event, designed to call attention to outstanding children's books of all kinds, takes place Wednesday, April 2. So do your best and do your part to be involved with favorite authors, illustrators, and titles on this special day -- and EVERY day that puts reading with kids first! For more information, visit the International Board on Books for Young People website at http://www.ibby.org/index.php?id=269.
Looking for an apt way to greet the new season? Stop by Bank Street Bookstore for a mini springy thingy (or two), a fun toy that gives extra bounce to the first day of spring -- as well as those that follow.
Even if you've never heard this wonderful C. S. Lewis expression, you probably agree with it. We certainly do at Bank Street Bookstore. And on Sunday, March 23, we get to combine these two passionate pastimes when author Ame Dyckman reads her book "Tea Party Rules" and serves up a pretend play tea party. Join us at 2:30 p.m.!
