Just slightly north of our corner of Broadway and West 112th Street, there's good news to celebrate. The 100-year-old Washington Heights New York Public Library reopened on March 3 after an extensive and lengthy renovation. The library, located at 1000 St. Nicholas Avenue, now features one of the largest children's floors in the NYPL system. And not only that, the library is filled with cozy and inviting reading areas, thousands of books, free Wi-Fi, 25 PCs, 16 laptops, and 24 Mac computers. See the photo below, then visit the library for yourself for a healthy dose of civic pride.
