"Solving the Puzzle Under the Sea" by Robert Burleigh

Event date:
Saturday, June 17, 2017 - 10:30am to 11:30am

Ocean scholars, detectives, and scientists love author Robert Burleigh's new book about mapmaker Marie Tharp. And who wouldn't? It tells the story of a real-life scientist who was the first to successfully map the ocean floor. Marie grew up watching her father make maps, but even he had not considered such an ambitious undertaking as Marie's desire to chart the sea. Her ideas helped her meet the challenge, becoming a true pioneer in several scientific fields of study. Read all about Marie in "Solving the Puzzle Under the Sea" when Robert Burleigh shares this new biography at Bank Street Book Store on Saturday, June 17 at 10:30 a.m. Reservations are not required and the event, at 2780 Broadway, is free of charge.
