"Little Mermaid" -- a Classic Retold

Event date:
Sunday, May 21, 2017 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm

A classic story is one that can be reworked and retold through the ages to remain a forever favorite. The latest version of "The Little Mermaid" by Metaphrog is a perfect example of how to rethink the Hans Christian Andersen original as a graphic novel. Artists John Chalmers and Sandra Marrs conceived this adaptation and brought it to life through words and images that tell the story in fantastic new ways. See this new version -- full of the familiar and the new -- at Bank Street Book Store on Sunday, May 21 at 2:00 p.m.

Spring Breezes Blow in "Argyle Fox" by Marie Letourneau

Event date:
Saturday, May 6, 2017 - 10:30am to 11:30am

Argyle Fox is a creative creature who loves a good game, but when he takes his rather less-than-durable playthings outside, they whoosh away. Thanks to his mother's passion for knitting (how do you think the main character got his name?), Argyle thinks of ways to save the day -- and grows quite resourceful in the process. Hear author/illustrator Marie Letourneau read her book "Argyle Fox" on Saturday, May 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Bank Street Book Store and enjoy a positive story of perseverance and outcomes. Marie will also sign copies of her book for everyone who loves spring flings and things.
