"Big Snow" Puppet Show with Jonathan Bean

Event date:
Saturday, December 21, 2013 - 1:00pm

Get ready for the wonder of winter with author-illustrator Jonathan Bean at a special puppet show and storytime reading of his children's book Big Snow.

While “helping” his mother with holiday housecleaning, a boy keeps a watchful eye on the progress of a winter storm. He’s hoping for a big snow. A REALLY big snow. Inside, he is underfoot, turning sheet-changing and tub-scrubbing into imaginary whiteouts. But over the course of a long day (for Mom) the clouds seem slow on delivering a serious snowfall. Then comes a dreamy naptime adventure, marking just the beginning of high hopes coming true.
Jonathan Bean grew up in Pennsylvania where he enjoyed, among many things, hiking, bird watching, and drawing the landscape. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Messiah College he moved to New York City in 2003 to attend graduate school at the School of Visual Arts. He received his first job illustrating for children's literature when hired by Cricket in 2004. Since then, he's worked for numerous publishers and his illustrations and writing have received widespread recognition. Jonathan currently lives in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
