BookFest at Bank Street

Meet authors, illustrators, editors, and reviewers at BookFest 2016, an annual event at Bank Street College for adults interested in a day of discovery and discussion of children's books. This year's focus is on visual literacy in children's literacy. Attendees take part in panels and breakout sessions, allowing a close-up understanding of literature for young readers. Special guests include Leonard Marcus, Pam Muñoz Ryan, Christopher Myers, Brian Pinkney, Hervé Tullet, and Angela Dominguez -- all well-known and well-respected within the world of children's publishing. Brooklyn Book Festival

The Brooklyn Book Festival is a proud gathering of book lovers, authors, illustrators, and publishers to form New York City's largest free literary event. Visitors are welcome to stroll the Borough Hall and Plaza area in downtown Brooklyn from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 18 to hear, see, and meet an outstanding line-up of special guests, speakers, and presenters, including Margo Jefferson, Pete Hamill, Margaret Atwood, Phillip Lopate, Joyce Carol Oates, and Salman Rushdie. Brooklyn Book Festival Children's Day

Expect great books and book events throughout Children's Day at the Brooklyn Book Festival on Saturday, September 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Writers and illustrators appear all day long at the MetroTech Commons, on two tented stages, and in the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering auditorium. Terrific books for kids of all ages will be discussed, displayed, and sold while special guests such as Rita Williams-Garcia, Christian Robinson, Ame Dyckman, Mike Curato, and Raul Colon present their books and share their ideas.
