"Five, Six, Seven, Nate!" by Tim Federle

11/01/2014 2:30 pm

Tim Federle combines two of his many talents, acting and writing, in "Better Nate than Ever," his debut novel for middle-graders. After the success of his first book, Tim returned to the drawing board (and treading the boards) for the release of "Five, Six, Seven, Nate!"

Tim appears at Bank Street Bookstore on Saturday, November 1 at 2:30 p.m. to share both of these terrific books with families who, like Tim himself, find inspiration in capturing characters and performances -- on stage and page.

If, like most New Yorkers, you love the thrill of live a performance, you will enjoy meeting Tim Federle. Come hear Tim's first-hand tales of working the Broadway stage, just as his main character Nate hopes to do in these two novels for readers from ten to 14 years old.

On Sunday, October 25, Jannie introduced Prince Garrett to families at Bank Street Bookstore by reading from several of her picture books, including "Breakfast for a Prince" and "The Beautiful Book of Possibilities."

Spinderella's Cinder-fella

If you weren't at Bank Street Bookstore Saturday afternoon, October 25, you missed author Mark Binder introduce his spin on the traditional Cinderella story: characters of color, difference, and diversity who deliver a message of empowerment to all readers. If you are accustomed to tales told the same way, pick up a signed copy of Mark's "Cinderella Spinderella" at the bookstore and introduce children to other ways of thinking, seeing, and hearing classic stories. Mark is shown below left with store manager Andy Laties, who plays accompaniment on one of his tuneful instruments.

Amazing Maze
