A scavenger hunt for young readers at Bank Street Bookstore kept kids happy and warm on a snowy afternoon -- the first Tuesday in March. Participants found all kinds of hidden treasures, including a scurvy pirate, one of Maurice Sendak's Wild Things, and a green dragon looking down from atop a bookcase. Here are two friends who finished the hunt together and won a special prize.
On Sunday, March 1, Bank Street Book Store became an art studio and writer's salon when a group of creative kids sat down with author/illustrator Rebecca Migdal for a comic book workshop. Together they talked through ideas, then wrote and drew their own versions of mini graphic novels. It was an afternoon of great artistic endeavor.
