"Elephant's Story" with Tracey Pearson

Award-winning author and illustrator Tracey Pearson will read her picture book Elephant's Story and lead kids in drawing activities at this special story hour.

In Elephant's Story, Gracie loses her favorite book. Thankfully, Elephant finds it – but when he sneezes, the book’s words go everywhere, mixing up the letters.
Elephant's friends -- alligator, seal, monkey, and bear -- try to help, but the words they create from the flyabout letters are not quite right.

Children ages 3 - 7 will love this story of the befuddled Elephant and his animal pals and, like Gracie, they might just be inspired create a few words of their own.

Author-illustrator Tracey Campbell Pearson gets kids. She understands what it takes to get a child to say, “Read it again, please.” With both carefully chosen words and chock-full-of-energy illustrations, Pearson tells her stories with a pace and rhythm that has kids anxious to turn the page to see what’s next – and she throws in a bit of humor to keep them laughing along the way.
