"Little Melba and Her Big Trombone" Read by Author Katheryn Russell-Brown

Little Melba and Her Big Trombone From as far back as anyone can remember, Melba Doretta Liston loved music. As a young child, Melba hummed, sang, and listened, nurturing her musical gifts. She taught herself to play the trombone, eventually joining a jazz band to tour the country and share the joy of music everywhere she went. Despite Melba’s encounters with obstacles of race and gender, she succeeded in making music, always her passion, into her life’s work.
On Saturday, September 20 at 10:30 a.m., author Katheryn Russell-Brown will read Little Melba and Her Big Trombone, a book about perseverance and the pursuit of dreams. Join us at Bank Street Bookstore.
