Wednesday Lit Talk: "City of Orphans"
On Wednesday, April 11 at 5:00 p.m., Regina reads an excerpt from "City of Orphans" by Avi, a story of a crowded and dangerous New York City in the late 1890s. While trying to make his hard life a little better, 13-year-old main character Maks encounters people and situations that contrast good with evil, light with dark, and rich with poor. Hear Regina's dramatic reading followed by a conversation about this action-packed adventure story set during a time of immigration in the Lower East Side.
