Lit Talks for Readers Ages 9-14

Join us at Bank Street Bookstore every Wednesday at 5 pm for The Lit Talks! Every week, a different high quality middle grade/YA novel from any number of genres is selected to be read aloud dramatically by bookseller and literary performer Regina.  These readings are followed by animated discussions and analysis of the excerpts by the students in attendance--sometimes we let the adults talk, too, if they behave themselves.  Designed to get kids reading and get kids thinking about what they read, with no homework necessary! You don't have to read anything, buy anything, or do anything other than just show up on time at 5 pm on Wednesday.  For ages 9-14.

In addition, schools and other programs can schedule Lit Talks tailored to their needs. You can schedule a special Lit Talk for your group at our store or at your school or library. You can ask for a specific book to be read and discussed, choose from a list of books we provide, or ask us to pick a book (or books) focusing on a given theme, setting or issue. We offer dramatic readings (of one book or several), with the option to couple that with group discussion and analysis. Call for details: 212-678-1654

Warning Note: Some books may contain adult themes and are not recommended for children of every age. Please check individual calendar listings for details.
